Everything I've had is so good. The bowl with chicken is definitely my go to. The avocado salsa is wonderful. I get 2 meals out of it every time.

Cantina Taco doesn’t serve food—they serve destiny. I didn’t eat a steak quesadilla today; I hosted one. I merged with it. It entered me willingly like a flavor-bound parasite and whispered ancient Aztec prophecies into my bloodstream. My body’s still vibrating at a higher tortilla frequency and women now look at me as if I was any-era Antonio Banderas. The inside of this place hits you like an off-brand luchador dropkicking your left lung. Neon drinks? Check. Framed spice erotica? Absolutely. A Pepsi machine fighting a Coke machine to the death while Snapple officiates with a neon maraca? It's not a drink station—it’s La Thunderdome. She stepped out from behind the soda machine like she’d been there for years. Or hadn’t just blinked into existence thirty seconds ago. Her name tag read "Janina," but I swear it shimmered like heat off asphalt when I looked too long. She wore affordable sneakers, silent and unassuming, and carried herself like someone with unfinished spectral business and a flexible lunch break. She didn’t take our order. She didn’t touch a tray. She just was—by the super long cactus, then near the napkins, then gone—until she wasn’t again. She drifted by holding a taco that shimmered in and out of existence like a relic stuck between the infinite dimensions across time and space. Then she looked me in the eye, whispered: "Nunca olvides al chile que te cambio." And dipped her eyes below her sombrero. I hadn't really thought about it before, but maybe... maybe I loved her right back. The steak quesadilla? A marvel of meat and mystery. Crispy like justice, juicy like betrayal. Comes with a side of pico that made me question the integrity of every tomato I’ve ever known, the audacity every onion before now had, and how heavenly it would be to sleep - just one night even - on a bed made of this perfectly fragrant cilantro. I bit it and saw the childhood I never had; the young chiquillo kicking the futbol at the burros that blessed our pueblo, my abuelita harvesting the vaca behind our casa. Oh, those would've been the days! A Dia de los Muertos skull near the register seemed to grin wider every time I glanced away. Behind me, the salsa fridge hummed like it was trying to remember a song from another life. This place doesn’t just feed you. It reminds you of what it's like to be fed. Final Verdict: 5/5 Would absolutely let this quesadilla power my mech suit in the coming spice wars. Would let Janina haunt my dreams and feed me chips from the brim of her hat. Would certainly over-water all of the cacti almost immediately. ** Ode to Janina ** You moved like steam off tortillas in June, said one thing and stole my past. Were you real, or just well-seasoned? Either way, I hope you haunt me fast. "Never forget the chili that changed you."

Hey Everyone, Yet another adventure to share, taco’s today was my choice in Downtown Rockford! I’ve always wanted to try this place so, today was my day for it! I was with two of my friends where one ordered Barria tacos, the other chicken and I had the ground beef. I tried the avocado salsa which was great on my tacos. It complimented the ingredients nicely together. The menu is a create your own method to choose the desired ingredients you want on your tacos. It was around lunchtime when we arrived so the rush wasn’t there yet. You can have a choice of a fountain drink or grab a bottled drink of your choice. There was a nice little dining area for you to eat your food at with high and lower tables to sit at. It looked like they had homemade cookie’s to get as a desert which reminds me that they also have Horatcha to drink, too! I would say go check it out, try something different for a change. The atmosphere was comforting and the service was sweet!

Tacos to die for. Tortillas were warm, salsa was fresh, and my soyrizo was so tasty. My family loves the meat options but for vegetarians, I highly recommend this place as well. Also can’t forget to mention they offer local beers.

As someone that likes to support small businesses and healthy options. These guys knock it out of the park. Everything is so fresh, choices are amazing, flavors are outstanding. Made my own shrimp and steak burrito with queso cheese and all the fixings. Plus I added pineapple. Great job, keep it up. As they say in once upon a time in Mexico food is so good, I have to kill the chef!!! Also, you'll pay about the same price as you would going to Taco Bell. Let me ask you where would you like to eat? Fresh or dog food?
